Baked Ziti is a classic Italian-American pasta dish made with ziti pasta, tomato sauce, and cheese, baked to perfection.

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions and drain.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

In a baking dish, layer half of the cooked ziti, half of the marinara sauce, and half of the ricotta mixture.

Step 5

Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

Step 6

Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.

Step 7

Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 8

Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
