Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 16, 2026

Chef.I values your privacy and therefore has set up this extensive Privacy Policy in order to notify you when data is stored, what is being processed, and what is being disclosed to other entities.

How Do We Collect Personal Information?

We collect information solely by your use of our website; meaning by the way you browse our site, and the information you fill out either through contact forms or chat messages.

What Personal Information Is Retained About You?

We collect two types of personal information; the first is statistical information about your use of the website, such as the pages you viewed, the links you have clicked, your device and browser type, your visit time, IP address, and referral. The second is the information that you fill out in our forms.

What Non-Personal Information Is Retained About You?

We retain some non-personal, identifiable information, including your browsing habits, and other information we may receive from you, provided that you were notified explicitly on such collection or retention.

How Do We Process Your Information?

We shall process the information through the service we provide to better understand how people use our website as well as to promote our services, display ads or to provide marketing and remarketing services. We also use your contact information to contact you with updates and notifications regarding our services, which you may opt out of.

Do We Use Cookies In Our Service?

A Cookie is a small file stored on your computer which is used in interaction between your computer and our servers (or third party servers). Cookies may sometimes be used to identify you. We use both first party and third party cookies to provide you with our services.

How Do We Use QR Codes and Cookies at Partner Restaurants?

When you scan a QR code placed on a table, menu, or signage at a Chef.i partner restaurant, we place a cookie on your browser to recognize your device on repeat visits to that specific restaurant location. This is used to help the restaurant understand visit frequency and table-level engagement (for example, how many times a table has been scanned, or what share of scans are repeat visitors).

You do not need a Chef.i account to use this feature. If you are a walk-in diner using the QR code without logging into the Chef.i app, we do not collect your name, phone number, email, or other information that identifies you personally - only the device-level cookie and your diet-filter selections during that visit.

This tracking is scoped to a single restaurant. We do not currently link your device across multiple Chef.i partner locations to build a cross-restaurant visit history.

Who can see this data: Aggregated and pseudonymized visit analytics (for example, total scans, repeat-visit rate) are made available to the restaurant owner through their Chef.i dashboard. Chef.i's internal team also has access to this data for product analytics and service improvement purposes.

Future use for advertising: We do not currently use this cookie data for third-party advertising or retargeting campaigns. We may do so in the future (for example, through Meta, TikTok, or Google advertising platforms). If we do, we will update this Privacy Policy in advance and provide an opt-out mechanism before activating any such use.

How to opt out: You may block or clear this cookie at any time through your browser settings. Because this feature does not require a Chef.i account, we have no other way to identify or honor an opt-out request tied to "you" as a person - only to the specific device and browser.

Who Has Access To Your Information?

We provide access to your information, solely to our employees, that are under strict confidentiality obligations. Our employees' use of your personal information is monitored. When we provide information to third parties who provide us a portion of the services, they are also under an obligation to keep information Confidential.

Which Third Parties Do We Use To Process The Personal Information?

We use Amazon AWS for hosting; Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok for marketing services; and Google Tag Manager for statistics and marketing. Where you place an order for delivery, we use Keatov as our fulfillment and logistics partner to complete your order; Keatov receives the order and delivery information necessary to fulfill your request and is contractually restricted from using your information for any purpose other than completing that delivery on Chef.i's behalf. Restaurant partners may also receive aggregated or pseudonymized analytics about visits to their own location, as described above.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We retain account information for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. In-restaurant QR code and cookie analytics data is retained for 5 years from the date of collection, after which it is deleted or fully anonymized. You may request earlier deletion of your account data by contacting us as described below.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, appropriate to the volume and sensitivity of the data we process. In the event of a data security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected individuals and applicable regulators as required by applicable law.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell your data. We do not receive payment or other value from Keatov, our restaurant partners, or any other party in exchange for your personal information. We may share data with service providers (such as our hosting, delivery, and analytics partners) as necessary to operate the Service, and, if you consent, for advertising purposes as described above - but we do not act as a data broker and do not sell or exchange your data for value.

How Can We Contact You?

We may send periodical newsletters and we may send you updates; you may always opt-out of these services.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or request its deletion - see "Can You Amend or Delete The Data?" below. Where we recognize a browser-based opt-out signal (such as Global Privacy Control), we will treat it as a request to opt out of any future sale or targeted-advertising use of your data, to the extent applicable. As noted above, we do not currently use in-restaurant QR/cookie data for advertising purposes; if that changes, this section will be updated with a specific opt-out mechanism.

Can You Amend or Delete The Data?

We respect your privacy and you can send us an email to request that we remove your personal data or obtain a copy of your personal data, and you may also contact us with any additional inquiry.

What Can You Do If You Feel Your Privacy Was Invaded?

If you feel your privacy was invaded, you can always contact our privacy officer, by email or through our contact form, and file a complaint. Our privacy officer will inspect the complaints within reasonable time and send you an answer promptly. Our privacy officer also publishes periodical reports about such complaints, which you can find on our website or contact us directly. You can contact our privacy officer by email at support@chefi.biz.
