Biryani
Biryani is a flavorful and aromatic South Asian dish made with rice, meat (chicken, beef, or lamb), and a blend of spices.
Preparation
Step 1
Rinse and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Marinate chicken with yogurt, garlic, ginger, biryani masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper.
Step 3
Heat ghee in a large pot and fry onions until golden brown.
Step 4
Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
Step 5
Add tomatoes and cook until softened.
Step 6
Drain rice and layer over the chicken mixture.
Step 7
Pour chicken broth over the rice.
Step 8
Cover and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes until rice is cooked.
Step 9
Garnish with cilantro and mint before serving.

- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped mint
- 2 tbsp ghee or oil
- Salt
