Buttermilk Biscuits

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a baking sheet.
Step 2
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3
Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
Stir in buttermilk until just combined.
Step 5
Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead. Pat dough to 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits.
Step 6
Place biscuits on the baking sheet and brush tops with milk.
Step 7
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
