Chicken Pot Pie
Chicken Pot Pie is a comforting dish featuring a creamy chicken and vegetable filling encased in a flaky pie crust.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Step 2
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and celery and cook until softened.
Step 3
Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Step 4
Gradually stir in chicken broth and milk. Cook until the sauce is thickened.
Step 5
Add cooked chicken, peas, carrots, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
Step 6
Pour filling into a pie dish and cover with pie crust. Trim and seal edges.
Step 7
Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Step 8
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until crust is golden brown.
