A Croque Monsieur is a classic French ham and cheese sandwich, baked or grilled to create a crispy, melty delight.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each bread slice.
Layer ham and cheese on two of the bread slices, then top with the remaining slices of bread.
Spread butter on the outside of each sandwich.
Place sandwiches on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is crispy.
