Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares.
Step 2
Place a spoonful of almond paste or jam in the center of each square.
Step 3
Fold edges of pastry over filling to form a packet. Brush with beaten egg.
Step 4
Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
Step 5
Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
