Falafel
Falafel are crispy, deep-fried balls made from ground chickpeas and spices. They’re a popular Middle Eastern street food and can be served in pita bread or as part of a salad.
Preparation
Step 1
Drain chickpeas and process in a food processor with onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper until finely ground.
Step 2
Shape mixture into small balls or patties.
Step 3
Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet. Fry falafel until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 4
Drain on paper towels and serve hot with pita and tahini sauce.
