Lasagna
Lasagna is a hearty Italian dish made with layers of pasta, meat sauce, béchamel, and cheese, baked until bubbly and golden.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
Step 2
In a pan, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 3
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg and a pinch of salt.
Step 4
In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
Step 5
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden. Let cool before serving.
