Pita Bread
Pita Bread is a flatbread with a pocket, perfect for stuffing with various fillings.
Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Step 2
Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Step 3
Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Divide dough into 8 pieces and roll into flat circles.
Step 4
Bake on a hot baking sheet or pizza stone for 5-7 minutes, until puffed and lightly browned.
