Sopes
Sopes are Mexican thick tortillas with raised edges, topped with beans, meat, and fresh garnishes.
Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl, mix masa harina with water to form a dough. Divide into 6-8 balls.
Step 2
Flatten each ball into a thick tortilla and cook on a hot griddle for about 1 minute per side.
Step 3
Use your fingers to pinch the edges to form a raised border.
Step 4
Top each sope with refried beans, cooked meat, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and salsa.
