Tucked down the passage between Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue, behind The Betsy, this modern trattoria works out of an open kitchen hung with neon artwork and retro photographs. Chef Laurent Tourondel spent a year on the dough, hand-stretched to order and fired in an earthstone oven. Order the San Marzano pizza, the Arthur Ave salad of salami, provolone and pepperoncini, veal and mortadella meatballs in pomodoro, or burrata with blistered cherry tomatoes and pesto. Regulars talk endlessly about the whipped ricotta and its garlic-rosemary focaccia. A walk-up window pours soft serve. Finish on frozen orange gelato, open every evening.
