Seven in the morning on Brickell Bay Drive, and the coffee is already pouring. Ambassador Cafe has been locally owned since 2005, part deli and part corner market, tucked into a waterfront tower at the quiet end of Brickell. The counter turns out Cuban sandwiches and medianoches, Black Angus burgers with fries, steak, chicken, turkey and tuna sandwiches, ham and cheese croissants and Peruvian empanadas, plus a salad bar for the lunch crowd. Natural juices, smoothies and green juice sit beside wine and beer. Shelves carry everyday staples too. Regulars come for the coffee and hours that run past midnight.
