A grey building in Edgewater with Japanese characters painted on the side and thirty-two seats behind them. Aoko means blue steel, a nod to the chefs' knives, and the cooking follows suit: no gimmicks, just precise traditional work from a crew of lifelong friends out of Broward County. Choose a ten-piece nigiri omakase, a fourteen-piece sashimi run, or the longer off-menu course. Chutoro under caviar, king salmon torched and lacquered with yuzu barbecue sauce, madai brightened with lime zest and sea salt. Four bar seats face the counter and cannot be booked online. Word of mouth alone filled the room.
