Cutler Bay's piece of the Dominican Republic opens at seven, and breakfast is the point: mangu with three or four golpes, tropical cubano, perico, salvadoreno, bistec a caballo, frita cubana. Later the kitchen turns out sancocho and mondongo, ropa vieja, vaca frita, churrasco, carne asada, oxtail, pork ribs, codfish and chicken stews, and sandwiches - cubano especial, pan con lechon, chimichurri. Croquetas, tostones rellenos and stuffed potatoes fill the gaps. Finish on flan, tres leches or arroz con leche with a Cuban coffee. Home cooking, daily specials, and the doors shut on Sundays. Nobody has ever left here still hungry.
