AZUMARE – Restaurant
Aventura's kosher answer to Nikkei cooking, Azumare crosses a Peruvian pantry with Japanese technique and puts a serious steak programme behind it. Start with a ceviche trio spanning classic, aji amarillo and rocoto, or with anticuchos mixto, papas rellenas and coconut shrimp. Lomo saltado and arroz chaufa carry the Lima end; the sushi counter sends out Salmon Truffle, Green Dragon Volcano and Coco Explosion rolls. El Parguito, a whole fried red snapper, lands whole. Steaks run to ribeye, cowboy cuts and tomahawks. Kosher certification is kept throughout, which is rather the point. Glossy, occasion-minded, and busy on NE 207th Street.
