BACKWATER FINS – Seafood
Out on Ozello Trail, past the salt marsh and the switchbacks, this island bar and grill sits where Citrus County runs out of road. The kitchen leans Gulf seafood with a Cajun accent: stuffed Cajun angels, bacon-wrapped crab-and-shrimp, blue crab bisque made from fresh-harvested crab, crab balls, alligator bites, Alaskan snow crab, and an Ozello Swamp mac and cheese. There is a full bar, a cedar dock bar, waterfront tables and ten screens carrying the games. Leashed dogs are welcome on the patio. Doors open late morning for lunch and dinner. Worth the drive out, which is rather the point.
