At the north end of John's Pass Village, the Bamboo has poured drinks since its Beer Garden days and still counts among the Florida Suncoast's oldest bars. The kitchen keeps it coastal and unfussy: smoked fish spread with pita, tiki nachos under cheese sauce and jalapenos, coconut shrimp, fish and shrimp tacos on red cabbage, a mahi-mahi sandwich, fish and chips. There is a full liquor bar and a run of frozen tiki drinks. Live music plays daily, and the crowd mixes Madeira Beach locals with returning snowbirds. Dogs get their own short menu. Late hours, salt air, no pretension.
