BAYGULLS & BAKERY – American
New York technique, Town 'n' Country address. Baygulls Bakery opened in summer 2025 on West Hillsborough Avenue with a simple argument: the Bay deserved a proper bagel. Theirs are hand-rolled, boiled in small batches and baked on the premises every morning from five ingredients, King Arthur flour that is never bleached or bromated, and nothing in the way of preservatives, dough improvers or mould inhibitors. The result is the chewy interior and blistered, glossy crust the style is named for. Jalapeno cheddar with a veggie schmear is the one to try. The coffee programme here runs to lattes and cortados.
