The kitchen keeps to the traditional canon and works through it properly: sauerbraten, jagerschnitzel, beef goulash, roast duck, and beef rouladen as the Friday special. Potato pancakes arrive with smoked salmon. Black Forest cake finishes things the way the name promises, and apple strudel comes complimentary with an entree on Sundays and Tuesdays. The setting is casual rather than formal, and the kitchen handles takeout and catering too. Closed Mondays. Central European cooking, unhurried and generously plated.
