BONO'S – Restaurant

Smoking since 1949, and Bono's still sells Jacksonville barbecue the way it always has: by the sandwich, by the platter, by the pound. Pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey and char-grilled chicken anchor the board; the 1949 Burger and the Bird Dog cover anyone who wants something else. Wings arrive smoked, then sauced to order. The sides do real work, from Brunswick stew and collard greens to fried corn on the cob and onion rings. Snack first on hand-cut fried squash or barbecue cheese fries. Family feasts feed a table. Dine in, drive through, or take the whole lot home.
