Cafe Muscat – Restaurant

A kosher dairy cafe on Union Turnpike in Fresh Meadows, run as a taste of Israel for the Queens community and open late most of the week. Breakfast runs all day: shakshuka, the Greek morning of eggs on toasted pita with feta, olives and za'atar, Yemenite mallawach with hard-boiled egg and salsa, Turkish bourekas. Beyond it, sabich and halumi sandwiches, four-cheese lasagna, ravioli, oreganatto salads piled with stir-fried asparagus or sweet potato, whole oven-baked branzino, sushi. Desserts lean rich: fried Oreos, cheese blintzes, chocolate souffle. Certified by the Vaad Harabonim of Queens; hours follow Shabbat, with a private party room.
