CAFFE TONNY – Restaurant
A Lebanese-leaning counter cafe on Northeast Third Avenue in downtown Miami, open from early morning to midnight and running on pastry, coffee and shawarma. The case holds beef, chicken and spinach empanadas, Jamaican patties, sfiha in meat, chicken, cheese or spinach, plus pastelitos and tequenos. Cuban coffee is poured properly: colada, cortadito, cafe con leche. Mezze covers hommous, labneh, kebbe and grape leaves, while salads run fatouche, tabouleh and Greek. Platters land shawarma, gyros, falafel and kebbe; sandwiches cover the same ground faster. Baklava closes it out. Takeaway and delivery are the norm, reservations are not taken, and no fuss.
