CANOPY ROAD CAFE – Restaurant

This is where it started. Brad Buckenheimer and David Raney opened the first Canopy Road Cafe in Tallahassee in April 2007, naming it for the oak-shaded roads around town, and the city now holds six sites including a takeout-only counter. The format has never moved: breakfast and lunch all day, six-thirty to quarter past two, plate-sized pancakes, rolled omelettes, skillets, benedicts and specialty griddle plates like the churro waffle. Sandwiches, smashburgers and salads cover the rest. Weekend waits are normal here and the floor staff work through them fast. Portions arrive larger than most people expect, particularly from the griddle.
