CAPRI BY MAYAMEX – Restaurant

Two kitchens under one roof on Krome Avenue, where the Everglades meets the road south. Capri opened in 1958 under Richard Accursio; the Cruz family, who have run MayaMex in Homestead since 2004, took it over and repainted the old Capri side with a mural. That room now opens at eleven for Mexican lunch, chicken mole from a four-generation recipe and sizzling fajitas, with pasta and salads still on the card. The King Richard room starts at four with recipes that came with the sale: spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana, grilled yellowtail. Order the chocolate souffle early, it takes time.
