Carlos & Gabby's (Five Towns) – Restaurant
The Five Towns flagship, on Washington Avenue in Lawrence, has anchored the kosher strip since the brand started in 2006, and it shares its counter with Mexi-Kosher. Everything is certified under the Vaad of the Five Towns and Far Rockaway. Flame-grilled burgers lead: the Classic Double, Texas Wrangler, Bronx Bomber, Magic Mushroom. Around them sit Philly steak subs, the Cedarhurst, buffalo fingers, chunky guacamole, cauliflower poppers, and Philly steak or pastrami king eggrolls. Southern fried chicken arrives by the piece, whole bird or party bucket. Burritos and tacos come from the Mexi-Kosher side. Friday closes early; Saturday, not at all.
