CASA MARIANO – Restaurant
Chef Mariano Araya spent two decades in kitchens before opening Casa Mariano in Doral, and the name is meant literally: the room is set up to feel like being fed at somebody's house rather than served in a dining room. The cooking is Mediterranean-inspired with an Argentine hand, running to lamb baklava in savoury spiced layers, mussels built for the middle of the table, crisp ossobuco croquettes, short rib empanadas and a plainly handled branzino. Araya trained at the Gato Dumas Institute in Argentina and cooked at Olivo's and Marfil Bistro. Open daily from late morning; private dining and catering.
