CHINA 1 – Restaurant

A neighbourhood Chinese takeout counter on East Bloomingdale Avenue, China 1 opens at ten in the morning and keeps going until nine, six days a week, dark on Tuesdays. The appetizer board is the old reliable one: pork and chicken egg rolls, Shanghai spring rolls, fried and steamed dumplings, krabmeat rangoons, beef and chicken teriyaki on skewers, barbecued or boneless spare ribs by the small or large order. Past that sit chow mein, chop suey, lo mein, mei fun, egg foo young, house specialties and a steamed diet menu with sauce on the side. Family dinners feed a whole table.
