On SW 13th Street in Gainesville, China Star takes its orders through an old-school online storefront and cooks the Chinese-American canon straight. Twelve chef's specials give the menu its shape: General Tso's, sesame and orange chicken, seafood delight, happy family, shrimp and scallops in garlic sauce, Hunan chicken, triple delight in garlic sauce, onion and scallion delight, Mongolian beef, Hawaii chicken, bourbon chicken. The special American dishes lean on wings, sold plain or with pork or shrimp fried rice, and buffalo wings by ten, twenty or thirty. A five-item steamed diet list and a rank of combo platters complete it.
