China Star occupies the Publix plaza on Coral Ridge Drive in Coral Springs, an open kitchen turning out Hong Kong, Cantonese, Szechuan and Hunan cooking. The chef's page earns the attention: Hong Kong lemon-flavored chicken, deep-fried then sauteed with lettuce and lemon; Asparagus Super Deluxe with jumbo shrimp, scallop, chicken, snow peas and straw mushrooms; jumbo shrimp with mango in garlic sauce; scallops and beef in Kung Pao sauce; mixed vegetable and tofu pan-fried noodle. Heat is adjusted to taste on request. Sixteen chef's dishes come with white rice. Lunch specials run Monday through Saturday until three o'clock. Catering too.
