The Dominican corner on North East 164th Street trades today as Ms. Chimi, still carrying Chivo Borracho on its licence and on its social handle. Chimis, the Dominican street burger, are the headline, backed by mofongo under garlic shrimp and a fryer working steadily through pig ears, carnita frita, salami, longaniza and queso frito with crunchy tostones and a house sauce. Plates come the traditional way: stewed meat, stewed beans, rice, salad and sweet plantains alongside. A free shot of mamajuana arrives with the order. The kitchen opens mid-morning and pushes on to two in the morning Thursday through Saturday.
