Cho-Sen Island – Restaurant
A Five Towns fixture on Central Avenue in Lawrence since 1990, Cho-Sen Island does glatt kosher Chinese and Japanese cooking with a full cocktail bar and a sushi counter running alongside the wok. Openers include hot and sour soup, spring rolls and steamed or pan-fried dumplings; the kitchen then moves to sesame chicken, sweet and sour veal, steak kew, General Tzo's chicken, house special lamb, triple crown beef and Peking duck. Japanese plates run to yaki-tori, kushi-yaki and teriyaki, and the sushi bar rolls its own specialities. Doors open at noon Sunday through Thursday, closed Friday and Saturday for Shabbat.
