Downtown Los Angeles keeps a Persian kosher grill on East Pico Boulevard, and the skewers are the whole point. Koobideh of ground seasoned sirloin, barg sliced from filet mignon, cornish hen, boneless chicken thigh, salmon and a vegetarian kabob all come off the open flame; soltani and the house combinations settle any indecision. Start with tahdig under stew, dolmeh, hummus, babaghanoush or a Moroccan cigar. Ghormeh sabzi simmers away, schnitzel and shawarma arrive as plates, and burgers, wraps and sandwiches carry the lunch trade. Everything is Glatt kosher and Pas Yisrael certified. Weekday hours only, and an early Friday close.
