The Roslyn dining room now trades as Cottage by Colbeh, run by the same family that opened the original in 1985. Glatt kosher and Persian at heart: kebab sultani pairing prime barg with koobideh, salmon and Chilean sea bass kebabs, whole grilled branzino, lamb chops, an eighteen-ounce prime ribeye. Mezze comes first, hummus and tahina and matbucha and babaganoush, burekas, arayes grilled in lafah bread. Salad shirazi and the potato-and-chicken Olivieh are the Persian standards. Stews run to ghormeh sabzi with dried limes and badenjon with plum tomatoes. Midday until late, closed Saturdays. Book a table, or simply walk in.
