COWBOY CHICKEN – Restaurant

Whole birds turn over an open wood fire all day at Cowboy Chicken, whose Kissimmee store sits in the Promenade at Sunset Walk on Margaritaville Boulevard. The Texas-founded chain builds everything around that rotisserie: half and quarter plates with two Wild West sides and a roll, pulled-chicken barbecue sandwiches, the Laredo with cracklins and guacamole, and tomatillo sour cream enchiladas. Sides run to white cheddar mac, twice baked potaters, ranchero beans and Mexican street corn. Pulled brisket, tenders and wings fill the board. Regulars single out the smoke and the family-sized meals. Peach cobbler closes it, an original since 1981.
