EL AREPAZO – Restaurant

Inside a gas station plaza on NW 58th Street in Doral, El Arepazo has served Venezuelan comfort food since 2004, growing into a regular, dependable stop for the area's Venezuelan community. The menu runs through cachapas con queso, tequenos, empanadas and griddled arepas stuffed with cheese, shredded beef or black beans, alongside a hearty pabellon criollo of white rice, shredded beef, sweet plantain and black beans. Portions are generous and prices stay reasonable, which regulars point to as much as the cooking. The setting is unglamorous, but the flavors stay consistent, a taste of Caracas built around simple corn cakes.
