El Mesón is the Orlando outpost of El Mesón Sándwiches, a Puerto Rican fast-casual chain founded in 1972 and known locally as Meson Sandwiches. The menu centers on hot pressed sandwiches such as the Caribe, built with rotisserie chicken, Virginia ham, sautéed onions and melted Swiss cheese, alongside all-day breakfast plates, Puerto Rican lentil soup and cheese-filled sorullo fritters. Coffee has been central to the chain since it started, and locations serve specialty iced coffees alongside classic Puerto Rican coffee. In the Orlando area the chain operates several locations, including Florida Mall, Osceola Parkway, Lee Vista Promenade and Lake Nona.
