El Patio RD Chimi works out of a small counter by the Mobil station on South Kings Avenue in Brandon, minutes from Paul Sanders Park, turning out Dominican street food built for carryout and delivery. Empanadas, chicharrón and salchipapas headline alongside chimis, fried pork skin, pig ears and house-made Dominican sausage, all cooked to order rather than held under a lamp. The setup is bare-bones: quick bite, outdoor seating, free parking, nothing fussy about the room. Regulars single out the fritura as some of the best in the Brandon-Tampa area, and the chimis keep people coming back on their own.
