El Tapatio Original runs as a Mexican restaurant and carniceria in one storefront off 103rd Street, pairing a butcher counter with a kitchen turning out Baja-style plates. The fajita platters are the draw, cooked to order and loaded with fresh peppers and onions, alongside carnitas tacos folded into soft corn tortillas with cilantro and richly seasoned asada tacos. Menudo anchors the soup list, and chilled shrimp cocktail covers the seafood side. Breakfast service runs until 11am daily, seven days a week, with beer and wine on offer.
