FARMERS MARKET REST – Restaurant
Farmers Market Restaurant has served Florida City out of the town's namesake produce market since well before it became a South Dade institution, and the menu still reads like a Southern diner's, not a market café's. Breakfast runs long, with eggs any style and baked goods alongside country-fried steak, chicken and dumplings, and hamburger steak smothered in gravy. Biscuits and gravy anchor the morning side, while seafood shows up more than the name suggests. Wednesdays bring an all-you-can-eat catfish special, and Fridays mean a proper fish fry. It's rustic, family-run cooking that has outlasted plenty of flashier, newer neighbors nearby.
