FRATELLI MILANO – Restaurant
A downtown Miami dining room on Southeast 1st Street, opened in 2006 by three partners and cooked by twin Milanese chefs. Pastas are made by hand daily by the pastry-chef owner, and the menu runs from antipasti misto and ciabatta bruschetta to paper-thin pizzas, a lasagna layered with sausage-heavy meat sauce, bechamel, fior di latte and Parmigiano-Reggiano, and a chicken parm that keeps regulars honest. Milanese expats come specifically for the bombolone, filled with Nutella or cream. Guests describe a family-run warmth rather than polish. Downtown Italian that behaves like a neighborhood one.
