Graeter's – Restaurant
Graeter's makes ice cream two gallons at a time in French pots, a method the company has used since 1870, and it is why the texture lands denser and slower-melting than almost anything else in a freezer case. The Shermer Road shop has been scooping on the North Shore since 2015. The signature is black raspberry chocolate chip: a fruit base shot through with irregular shards of chocolate, poured in as liquid and broken by hand. Mint chip and birthday cake hold their own. Sundaes, shakes, and pints for the road. Small batch in the literal sense.
