A Pico-Robertson fixture that has been feeding the neighbourhood since 1979 and is still run by the family that opened it. The kitchen is glatt kosher and the menu is Israeli at heart: hummus and tehina, falafel, shawarma, grilled kebabs, chopped salads and pita sandwiches, with Moroccan and wider Mediterranean dishes worked in alongside. Diners return for the freshness above all, and the hummus and the salads come up again and again. Unhurried, unpretentious, and reliable in the way only a decades-old kitchen manages.
