Doors open at six on Reed Canal Road, and by seven Hannah's Family Diner is doing what a family diner does: coffee poured before you ask, eggs, and plates that overshoot the plate. Breakfast runs all day. The corned beef hash is made in house, the biscuits have their own following, and the California omelet and breakfast burrito hold down the morning. Lunch means patty melts, meatloaf, open-faced roast turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. Diners return for the portions, the prices and the staff who remember them. It shuts by mid-afternoon — go early.
