A wine shop you can sit down and eat in. That has been the Happy Wine trick on Calle Ocho since 2004: bottles by the thousand covering the walls, and a kitchen sending Spanish tapas and Josper-grilled plates to the tables in between. Tortilla espanola, huevos rotos, stracciatella con tartufo, chorizo picante, a pintxo of jamon and manchego. Live music most nights of the week and a room that gets loud in the right way. The New York Times has named it among its top 25 locally owned places to eat. Graffiti on the walls, dancing optional.
