HUNGRY HOWIES – Restaurant

Hungry Howie's has been a carryout and delivery operation from the start, tracing back to a converted hamburger shop in Taylor, Michigan, in 1973. The hook arrived a decade later: eight flavored crusts, brushed on at order time, running from butter and butter cheese through asiago, ranch, cajun, sesame, garlic herb and Italian herb. The menu keeps things purposeful, with specialty pizzas such as the Howie Special and the Meat Eaters, calzone-style oven-baked subs, Howie Bread, Howie Wings, Howie Rolls, fresh salads and desserts. Customers keep returning for the crust and the fair price. The edge is the best part, deliberately.
