Founded in 1973 in Taylor, Michigan, Hungry Howie's has spent five decades making one thing its calling card: the flavored crust. Eight options are brushed along the outer edge to order — butter, butter cheese, asiago, ranch, cajun, sesame, garlic herb and Italian herb. Under that rim sit the standards and the specialty builds, the Howie Special and the Meat Eaters among them, with calzone-style oven-baked subs, Howie Bread, Howie Wings, Howie Rolls, fresh salads and desserts filling out a carryout-and-delivery menu.
