HUNGRY HOWIE'S – Restaurant

A small-town pizza order in Lake Butler usually comes down to two questions: how fast, and what crust. Hungry Howie's answers the second one with eight flavors — butter cheese and garlic herb among the most-ordered — applied free to any pizza. The menu runs from the Original Round and specialty pies like the Works and the Veggie to oven-baked subs sealed like calzones, Howie Bread with garlic butter and parmesan, wings and chicken tenders. Diners talk about consistency and value more than novelty, which is rather the point. Dependable, and finished with something the big chains skip.
