Out on US Highway 301 in Riverview, Hungry Howie's runs a delivery-first pizza counter with one thing worth choosing carefully. The crust comes flavored at no extra cost, eight of them, butter, butter cheese, Asiago, Cajun, garlic herb, onion, ranch and sesame, on original round, deep dish, thin or gluten-free bases. Pizza aside, there are oven-baked subs folded calzone-style, Howie Bread and Howie Rolls, wings, tenders, fresh salads, baked pasta and desserts. It has been the chain's formula since the seventies and it still works. Order it, and pay attention to the edge.
