Brickell Key's quiet edge suits a sushi bar built on restraint. Ikigai is Grupo Ikigai's first U.S. room, a minimalist space by design studio Sala Hars where warm light, natural materials and unhurried service set the tone. Chef Ignacio Carmona, three decades into Japanese cooking, works with seafood flown in daily from Japan, New Zealand, Chile and elsewhere. The menu runs from white fish tiradito and hamachi serrano to shrimp gyozas and rib eye udon, with a nigiri omakase that changes as the fish does. Precision and calm rather than spectacle. Serious sushi, no theatrics.
